Congratulations to the European Union (EU), the European Space Agency (ESA), and the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) on the successful launch of the European Union’s‪ Sentinel‬-3A satellite, which will be operated by ESA and EUMETSAT as part of the EU’s Copernicus programme.

As stated in the NASA Spaceflight news article, “Sentinel-3A uses a multi-spectral optical mission that provides sea/ land colour data and surface temperatures and an altimetry mission contributing to the determination of the sea surface, ice surface, and in-land water topography.”
