CEOS Executive Officer Handover
For the last three years, Marie-Claire Greening has served as the CEOS Executive Officer (CEO), thanks to the support of NASA, NOAA and ESA. On the 1st of January 2024, the role was handed over to a joint team of Steven Ramage and Lefteris Mamais.
At the 2023 CEOS Plenary, the CEOS community thanked Marie-Claire for her time in office with a bouquet of flowers and a standing ovation. Marie-Claire will continue to be involved with CEOS as the new ESA Point of Contact.
At the 2022 CEOS Plenary, EUMETSAT agreed to take responsibility for engaging a contractor into the CEO position for 2024-2025, and organised a consortium of European Agencies to contribute towards the cost. CEOS thanks EUMETSAT, as well as the European members who are contributing to the funding for this vital role within CEOS.
Following an extensive tender process, EUMETSAT selected Steven Ramage (Réseau) and Lefteris Mamais (Evenflow) to jointly support the role for 2024-2025. Steven will be the new CEO, with CEO support provided by Lefteris and his team.
Steven’s name is familiar to many within CEOS and the broader Earth observation community, with many years of experience both with the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), the Group on Earth Observations Secretariat (GEOSEC), and the UK Space Agency.
CEOS thanks Marie-Claire for her many years of excellent service to CEOS, and welcomes Steven and Lefteris.
