GEOGLAM Essential Agricultural Variables (EAV) Stocktake Workshop

Event Dates: May 13th - 15th, 2025

The GEOGLAM Essential Agricultural Variables (EAV) Stocktake Workshop is scheduled to take place from May 13-15, 2025, followed by the GEOGLAM Executive Committee (ExCom) meeting on May 16, 2025. These events will be held at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Ispra, Italy.

This workshop, co-convened by GEOGLAM, JRC and the CEOS Land Surface Imaging Virtual Constellation (LSI-VC) Subgroup on GEOGLAM, aims to advance our work on Essential Agricultural Variables (EAVs).

The EAV Stocktake Workshop will focus on:

  • Updating and Refining the EAV Framework: Reviewing and updating EAV definitions to reflect evolving information needs, including alignment with G20 priorities, UN SDGs, and national agricultural monitoring requirements.
  • Comprehensive Stocktaking of EAV Efforts: Inventorying past, present, and future EAV-related projects for strategic planning and donor engagement.
  • EAV Gap Analysis and Prioritization: Identifying gaps in EAV availability and developing a roadmap for advancing EAVs based on consensus-driven priorities.
  • Strengthening GEOGLAM-CEOS Collaboration: Developing a Terms of Reference for the relationship between GEOGLAM and CEOS to enhance coordination and impact.
