2026 SIT Technical Workshop
NOTE: This is a closed event. Unless specifically invited by the SIT Chair, all attendees must attend on behalf of a CEOS Agency.

The SIT Technical Workshop will convene the main workshop sessions on Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10, 2026. This workshop provides an essential forum for technical-level discussions that will support and inform decision-making at the CEOS Plenary in November, and enables detailed exchanges on implementation approaches, technical coordination, and operational matters across CEOS.
Prior to the SIT TW, participants are invited to join a Civil and Private Sector Earth Observation Data Providers Collaboration Forum on Tuesday, September 8. The Collaboration Forum will bring together CEOS member agencies and other Earth observation data providers including the commercial sector, to explore avenues for collaboration that expand access to actionable data and accelerate the delivery of science to users.
Following the conclusion of the SIT TW, participants are invited to attend the second CEOS Water Quality Workshop, co-hosted by the CEOS Chair (CSIRO) and SIT Chair (NASA), on Friday, September 11, 2026. The workshop will build on outcomes from the first workshop held in April 2026, and focus on strengthening the integrated ‘catchment-to-coast’ observation framework by bridging the hydrology and water quality communities, advancing Essential Water Quality Variables (EWQVs), and identifying priority use cases to better link Earth observation data with real-world decision-making.
